This tutorial is written as if you have a general knowledge on how to use the program.

***What you'll need***
Program of Choice.
I am using Photoshop CS5
But, if you know your tools you can use any program of choice

Tube Of Choise
I am using the awesome artwork of Danny Lee
You can find this tube HERE
Be sure to check out all the awesome tubes he has while you're there

Font
Hibiscus
You can find this free font for download HERE

Texture of Choice
I used texture 03 from this pack HERE
On the page it's the very far left one on the 3rd row from the bottom

Additional Filters needed
VanDerLee – Unplugged-X
DSB Flux – Blast
Eye Candy 4000 – HSB Noise
MuRa's Meister - Copies

~*~*~ Let's Get Started~*~*~

Open a new canvas
600px by 250px

Open your full body tube
Add to your canvas

Filer → MuRa's Meister → Copies
Wallpaper (rotate)
Everything else at default

Filter → Blur → Motion Blur
Angle – 0 degrees
Distance – 100 pixels

Filter → DBS Flux → Blast
Direction – Right
Percentage – 20%

Repeat this filter 9 more times

Filter → Sharpen → Sharpen Edges

Filter → Sharpen → Sharpen

Open your texture
Resize to 600px on the width
Add to your canvas
Change the blend mode to luminosity
Lower the opacity to 50%

Add your tube to your canvas once again
This time resize and reposition to your liking
Once you have this duplicate the tube
On the bottom one add a drop shadow

On the top one
Filer → Blur → Gaussian Blur, 3.0px
Change the blend mode to soft light

Use your rectangle marquee tool
to draw out a rectangle on the lower left of the tag
On the main background we made
Copy and paste this
Filter → VanDerLee → Unplugged-X → Pattern Offset
Change the blend mode to soft light
Add a bit of an outer glow

Repeat all of this on the upper right

Change the layer of these to just below the tube layer for now

Now we're going to use our text tool
Go to the Hibiscus font
Type out a capital “E”
Size 250px
In a color that is from your tube
Reposition this to the bottom right of the tag
Add an outer glow
Change the blend mode to soft light

Type out a lower case “s”
Size 300 px
Reposition to left of your tag, more toward the upper portion
I did rotate this one a bit to the right
Add an outer glow to this one as well
Change the blend mode to soft light

Add some word art to the upper right box we made earlier

Add your name to the lower left box

Select the whole canvas
Add a new layer

Edit → Stroke
8px
in black
Change the blend mode to overlay

Add a new layer

Edit → Stroke
5px
in a color of choice from the tube

Filer → Noise → Add Noise
12.5%
Gaussian
Monochromatic

*****Most Important*****
Add your copyright information

If you're not wanting to animate you're done with the banner of this tag.
Save to your liking.

For the avatar:

Now if you want to make an avi I just hide the credits, border and any words
Merge them all down flat
Start a new canvas 150px by 200px
Flood fill with black
Drag this black layer over to our main canvas we've been dealing with
move it below the merged layer we made
Create a clipping mask here
(hold down alt while your mouse is over your layers pallate and when the mouse changes to two intersecting circles click once)
It'll only show where that black square is now!

Move it around a bit until your happy with what you see in the square
Merge the two layers together and drag back to your smaller canvas we made for it
Center it and all that
Add the borders as we did before on the main canvas
Add your copyright info
Add Either your name or initals

You're done!!

Now for the animation :D

Duplicate each of the hibiscus flowers we made 3 times so we have a total of 4 layers.

On the first of each
Filter → Eye Candy 4000 → HSB Noise

It will warn you the layer will be rasterized, just click okay on this one :)
Repeat this for each of the other 3 layers
Make sure you hit “Random Seed” between each

Go to your animation window
have the delay set to .15 seconds, set to go on forever
On the first animation layer hide all of the flower layers except for the first two of each

Add a new animation layer
Hide the first of each flower layer and unhide the second of each

Add a new animation layer
Hide the second of each layer and unhide the third of each

Add a new animation layer
Hide the third of each layer and unhide the fourth of each

Press play to see your animation go
If you're happy with your results save as a .gif

You're done!
