This Tutorial was written on October 28th, 2011 by Ashly
It is of my own creation and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please do not copy and do not post elsewhere.
This tutorial is written as if you have a general knowledge on how to use the program.

***What you'll need***
Program of Choice.
I am using Photoshop CS5

Tube of choice.
I am using the artwork of Wendy Gerber
You must purchase a license to use her work and you can do so HERE

Kit of choice.
I am using a scrapkit called “PSP Asylum” by Alika's Scraps
This is a FTU Kit you can download HERE
Make sure you take a look around to see everything she has to offer while you're there and let her know you snagged the kit.
You'll also need some sparkles of choice. I got mine from another FTU kit by Alika. It's her exclusive on facebook for liking her page :)

Mask of Choice
I am using BigMask001 by Vix
You can Download that HERE

Filters Needed
Xero – Porcelain
Xero – Radiance

~*~*~ Let's Get Started~*~*~

Open up a new canvas
600px x 600px.
Flood fill with white

Open as34
Copy and paste onto your canvas.
Scale down to 90%
Add a drop shadow of choice.

Open aspaper03
Resize to 600px by 600px
Copy and paste onto your canvas.
Drag below your frame.
Use your magic wand to select inside the frame.
Select ---> Modify ---> Expand, by 5
Invert your selection
On your paper layer press delete.
Deselect.

Open aspaper04
Resize to 600px by 600px
Drag below your frame background
Add your mask here.

Go to your tube and get your close up image.
Copy and paste onto your canvas.
This is going to be between your frame and your frame background layer
Resize and position to your liking.
I also flipped mine horizontally
Ctrl + Click your frame background thumbnail in the layers pallate (select it)
Invert the selection (ctrl + I)
and on the tube layer press delete.
Change the blend mode to luminosity and opacity to 80%
Duplicate this layer
On the new layer.
Filter ---> Blur ---> Gaussian Blur, Radius of 5
Change the blend mode to darken and the opacity to 70%

Go back to your tube and select the fully body one.
Copy and paste it onto your canvas.
This is going to be the top most layer for now.
Resize and position to your liking.
Add a drop shadow.

Filter → Xero → Porcelain
All at default except the blue channel, slide all the way to the left to 0.

Filter → Xero → Radiance
Something subtle that just brightens it up a bit.

Filter → Sharpen → Unsharp Mas
All at default

Now we're just going to embellish to our liking.
Add your drop shadows and resize, rotate and position.
I used the following:

~Above the mask layer but below the frame background~
as05
as05
as01
as01
as27
add your sparkles here on the left side, I didn't add a drop shadow to mine
as03
as04 (no drop shadow here)
as15 (I erased a bit at the bottom)
as100
as20 (no drop shadow)
as20 (no drop shadow)
as20 (no drop shadow)
as101
Add a new layer, take a hard brush size 1 and on this new layer click on the top of the spiders abdomen and she click shift while the mouse is still pressed and drag your line up so that it goes up just a little ways and then release both at the same time. Now drag this layer so it's below the spider.

~Above your top tube layer~
as22
as43
as96
as70
as103
as64
add your sparkle here again but on the right side, no drop shadow on mine again
as42 (I also added a red outer glow to mine here)
as107 (make sure the end of the spider's string is covered here)
as43
as82
as90
as90
as96
as96

Add your name to your tag.

Image ---> Trim
Top left pixel color, all boxes checked

Resize if you want to

*****Most Important*****
Add your copyright info to the tag.

If you're happy with what you've done and don't want to animate hide the bottom white layer and then save as a .png and you're done.

If you want to animate lets keep going :)

~Animation~

Find your spider layer and have it selected in your layer pallate.
Go to your animation window (Window → Animation)
My delay is set at .15 seconds to repeat forever.
Add a new animation layer.
Now with your spider layer selected, click on your move tool and then nudge your image of the spider 5 times (click the up arrow 5 times)

Add a new animation layer and nudge it 5 more times

Add a new layer and nudge it the same amount again, do this until your spider has reached the peak of how high you want it to go. (I did 5 frames so nudged it 4 times)

Add two more of the peak frames and don't change them.

Then add a new layer and nudge the spider back down 5 times.

Keep doing this until it's back to it's original position.

I actually went one time past the original position.

With your lowest point add two more frames to it....if you go to your original just add one more of the last frame.

Press play to see your animation at work.

If you're happy with what you've done the save as a .gif and you're done!

Thank you for trying my tut!
I'd love to see any tags made from it!

If you have any questions feel free to email me!

Thanks again and Huge hugs!
Ashly

Here is the non animated version!
