This Tutorial was written on October 18th, 2011 by Ashly
It is of my own creation and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
Please do not copy and do not post elsewhere.
This tutorial is written as if you have a general knowledge on how to use the program.

***What you'll need***
Program of Choice.
I am using Photoshop CS5

Tube of choice.
I am using the beautiful work of VeryMany.
This is an exclusive at Scraps and the City
You must purchase a license to use their work and you can do so HERE

Kit of choice.
I am using After the Rain by Kikeka Kits by Gina
You can purchase this kit for use HERE

Mask of Choice
I am using Gemsmask-2 by Gems Taggin Scraps
You can Download that HERE
Filters Needed
Xero – Porcelain
Xero - Radiance
~*~*~ Let's Get Started~*~*~

Open up a new canvas
600px x 600px.
Flood fill with white

Open up the element porthole
copy and past onto your canvas
Scale down by 50%

Open paper08
Resize to 600px by 600px
Copy and paste into your canvas
Scale down by 50%

Take your magic wand tool and select inside the porthole
Select ---> Modify ---> Expand
I expanded by 4px, click okay
Invert your selection and on the paper layer, click delete.

Open up your tube and copy and paste onto your canvas.
Resize and postion to your liking.
Filter ---> Xero ---> Porcelain
All at default except the blue channel set to 0.

Filter ---> Xero ---> Radience
Something subtle that just brightens the tube back up a bit

Filter ---> Sharpen ---> Unsharp Mask
All at default.

Open paper12
Resize to 600px by 600px
Copy and past into your canvas.
Drag it to just about the white background layer
Apply your mask here.

Add any elements you'd like to now.
I used the following in this order.
Resize, place and drop shadow of choice on all.
(these are all behind the mask and frame just about the mask layer)
Ribbon02
hearts
jar02
flower08
flower07
beads01
Rainbow (this one is in between the porthole and paper backround, I also erased any parts that were outside of the porthole here)

Now go to the alphas
I chose to do the word “Rain” in them
Scale all down to 15%
I added an outer glow and drop shadow and rotated them a bit as I wanted to.
Add any other wording you'd like it.
I also rasterized the word “Rainbow” and erased bits so it looked like it was looping around the “R” in rain and the tube as well.

Add your name to the tag.

Image ---> Trim
Top left pixel color, all boxes checked
Resize if you're wanting to.

*Most Important*
Add your copyright info to the tag.

Now, if you don't want to animate you're done!
If you do, let's do this!

-----Animation-----
Go to your 'rainbow' layer and duplicate it.
Turn off the visibility of the first one, we're going to leave it as is.
Using a soft round brush of around 100px erase a bit of the duplicated layer.
Once you've done that duplicate this layer, turn of the one you just copied and then erase a bit more on the newly created layer.
Do this until you have nothing left.
I ended up with 6 layers for the rainbow part :)

Now, turn them all off and go to your main paper background layer.
Create 4 new layers above it.
Flood fill all with black.
On the very first one go to
Filter ---> Noise ---> Add noise
Amount – 100%
Uniform and Monochromatic.

Go to the next layer
Filter --->Noise ---> Add noise
All the same but amount to 95%

Go to the next layer
Filter --->Noise ---> Add noise
All the same but amount to 90%

Go to the next layer
Filter --->Noise ---> Add noise
All the same but amount to 85%

Now, on each of these layers we're going to go to
Filter ---> Blue ---> Motion Blur
I did an angle of 50 and distance of 15.

Change the blend mode of all 4 layers to soft light.

Now ctrl + click your frame background paper to select it, invert your selection.
On each of the 4 noise layers we made click delete so that the rain only happens inside of the porthole.
Turn the visiblity off on all of those layers.

Now, open up your animation window.
(Window ---> Animation)

Set your delay at .15 secs and set to loop forever.

On the first layer in that pallate turn the visibility of the first rain layer on.
Add a new layer turn off the first rain layer and turn on the second
Add a new layer, turn off the second rain layer and turn on the third
Add a new layer, turn off the third rain layer and turn on the fourth
Add a new layer, turn off the fourth rain layer and turn back on the first.
Add a new layer, turn off the first rain layer and turn back on the second.
Add a new layer, turn off the second rain layer and turn back on the third.
Add a new layer, turn off the third rain layer and turn back on the fouth.

Now, add a new layer and turn off all rain layers.
Add another layer but change nothing
Add one more layer and turn on the smallest rainbow layer
Add another layer and turn off the first rainbow layer but turn on the second.
Keep doing this until you're at the complete rainbow.
Add two more of the complete rainbow layers

Add another layer and turn everything off so it's just the paper background showing again.
Add two more.

Now, we're going to test it.
It should now rain and then the rainbow comes out and then repeats!!
If you're happy with it Saved your creation
and You're done!!
I'd love to see what yo come up with!!
You can send them in to me as well as if you have any questions!!

Thank you for trying this out!!

Huge hugs!
Ashly

Here is one I did without the animation as well :D
